FAQ

Q: What are the drop off and pick up hours for daycare?

7:15 to 10am for drop off and 3 to 6pm for pick up
An extended stay is available for $11/day – pick up will then occur between 8pm-9pm and must be requested at drop off.  This extension is only available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sundays
*All customers requiring service outside of our listed daycare hours will be subject to a $55 (+HST) service fee.

Q: Are you able to accommodate intact (not fixed) dogs?

Yes!  We are able to accommodate intact dogs, but we do need to know they are intact. Please share this during the first visit questions.

Q: What does ‘open concept’ mean?

Whether your dog is a social beast or you just want your pet to experience the camaraderie of bunking down with buddies, we have a number of open concept sleeping spaces to meet your needs.

Q: Do you require a meet and greet before our booking?

Not at all. At Dog World Bedrock Kennels, we assess your dogs behavior and personality from the moment they step a paw out of the vehicle. From that point forward, we are focused on ensuring the ‘right fit’ for them at our facility. Your dog becomes as important as our own dog — guaranteed!
If you’d like a tour of the facility beforehand, we’d love to show you around.
We do require a meet and greet if your dog is aggressive towards humans. We reserve the right to decline service if your dog poses a risk to the health and safety of our staff and other dogs.

Q: How long does check in take?

About 15 minutes. At our reception desk, we’ll take your paperwork, ask you some important questions (like whether your dog has been to a dog park, what their likes and dislikes are, and more) and ensure we have emergency numbers, Vet details, feeding schedules and medical requirements.

Q: What should we bring?  What about my dog’s bed, dishes and toys?

Just like staying at a hotel, we only ask you to bring along food, vaccination papers, a favourite toy — and your dog! We have everything a dog could need to have an enjoyable stay.
Any special needs your pet may have should be discussed with us at booking. If your pet requires medication, please bring it, along with written instructions. There is no extra cost for the administration of medication.

Q: How long are the canine activities?

Every dog is different, so we don’t set prescribed times.  Based on the breed, weather, age and fitness level, we let them engage with the activity for as long as they’re happy.

Q: How long do they get to stay out of their unit?

Some dogs are real ‘social animals’ and want to spend all day with new friends. Some are most comfortable alone in a new environment and prefer more one on one time. Others need lots of structured play to keep their bodies — and minds — engaged and out of mischief! We assess them and ensure that wherever they are, they’re the happiest they can be.

Q: What if my dog has special needs?

Don’t worry. We have years of experience in caring for a huge range of dogs, some of whom have had special needs and challenges. We welcome them and look forward to their stay.

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept Cash, Credit (no AMEX), Debit, ApplePay and possibly e-transfers

Q: What if my dog develops a health concern while in your care?

Accidents do happen. That’s why we ensure staff are trained and knowledgeable in standard canine first aid. Our training manual has been approved and we always have someone on the property 24-hours to monitor and deal with emergencies should they arise.
Health requirements: At Dog World we strive to provide a safe, clean and peaceful environment for all pets. All pet owners are required to show proof of up-to-date vaccinations, including Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza. Bordetella is highly recommended. We do accept Titer tests as proof of vaccinations.
Avoid visiting a vet clinic 7 to 10 days prior to boarding.  This is to allow your dog to recover from getting the shot(s) and be sure no adverse reactions will happen while you are away.
* If your dog has recently been to the vet – an additional $11 per day handling fee MAY apply. This does not mean your pet will receive any less of our activities only provide them with a comfortable, independent suite during their stay.
If you have an intact male and intact female and she goes into heat  – the dogs will be separated, and then will require two units.  Should this occur, you will be charged for the two dogs, separately during the heat. Once that is clear, the two dogs will then be put back together into one unit.
